In our societies, discrimination is a pervasive issue that affects many individuals, especially minorities who often find themselves marginalized and excluded. Dr. Frank L. Douglas penned a non-fiction book titled Addressing Systemic Discrimination by Reframing the Problem to delve into this matter and explore its impact on people. In this insightful work, he introduces innovative concepts aimed at combating discrimination, including the Focus on the Individual, Evolution of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to Equity, Inclusion and Individual Engagement (EIIE), and Safe Haven Dialogues (SHD) Reframing Process. Although Dr. Frank L. Douglas primarily focuses on systemic discrimination against Black individuals, the information presented in the book can be applied to other cases involving minorities.

One aspect that resonated with me was the author's incorporation of real-life stories, which vividly depicted the struggles faced by individuals grappling with this significant issue. These narratives not only enlightened my understanding of the problem but also empowered me to reconsider my perspectives and take personal action to address this pressing concern. Sometimes, even the slightest change in viewpoint can yield a transformative impact. Furthermore, I highly appreciated that the author delved into as many as 18 cases of discrimination against Black individuals. The descriptions provided were highly informative and meticulously detailed. Moreover, I found the book remarkably accessible and easy to read, a departure from my usual experience with similar works discussing real-world issues that demand intense concentration. Despite the gravity of the subject matter, the author's engaging language made it a light and engaging read.

Upon careful examination, I could not identify any major flaws in the book. It effectively fulfils its intended purpose, and aside from some minor errors, I have no further criticisms to give.

Overall, I wholeheartedly give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the issue it addresses.
