The Devil In The White City by Erik Larson

Post by RealtorRena »

The Devil in the White City is a non-fiction story that reads like an entertaining thriller novel. Erik Larson weaves the stories of Daniel Burnham & the architects responsible for putting together the magical grandiose World Fair and serial killer H.H. Holmes who uses the World Fair as a way to lure his victims. Being from Chicago, I couldn't help but wonder how is it possible that I didn't already know this story. Rich in history and extremely entertaining, Erik Larson does a great job of pulling you right into the late 1800's era and leaving you with a cliff hanger at the end of every chapter.
