Review of A Dream For Peace
The non-fiction book "A Dream For Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah details the author's socioeconomic background and achievements in several nations throughout his diplomatic career. It provides a glimpse into African history and Dr. Berrah's aspirational goal of Algerian independence. Additionally, several subjects including spirituality, religious diversity, world politics, family, and love are highlighted in this narrative.
The author's upbringing, youth, and primary education are highlighted at the opening. The author was born in Algeria while it was still governed by France. As a result, he encountered racism when he first started going to school. The prejudice grew worse when he went to college. This inspired him to start clubs at school to fight for the rights of other African children like himself. After completing his undergraduate education, Berrah continued to promote the emancipation of his country. His unwavering dedication to this cause turned out to be essential for Algeria's independence. His efforts to bring about change were not limited to Algeria. He fought for all of Africa. If you wish to learn more about Berrah's work, I recommend that you purchase a copy of this book.
What I like most is Dr. Ghoulem's experiences, which offer numerous life lessons, such as his viewpoint on love, his desire for knowledge, his acceptance of various religions, and his comprehension of various cultures. When I realized that the author had included old photos to corroborate his narrative, I was better able to understand the book. Additionally, even though this book is an autobiography, the story was delivered more engagingly, and each chapter finishes with a much-needed inspirational quote.
There was nothing about this book that I didn't like, even though the images in this book were not so clear and sharp, they were still visible and good enough to provide illustrations. After reading this memoir, I was surprised to discover that I had never heard of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah; his narrative unquestionably merits public exposure. It was a longer book, but every minute I spent reading it was worthwhile.
This memoir is exceptional and stands out among other biographies; it deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. For those interested in politics and the history of colonial rule in Africa, this book is a must-read. The author's "diplomacy of smiles" strategy is insightful and instructive. The message of love and peace in the book is also universal and relevant to everyone, making it an excellent book for everyone to read.
