Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy is a non-fiction book. It covers some political aspects in the United States of America from the year 2019 to the year 2022. This book discusses the American polity during this time and the events that occurred, including the presidential elections that took place in 2020. The book raises the wrangles between Democrats and Republicans, which include the motion for the impeachment of Donald Trump as an American president. It also covers information about the press and how it is the frenemy of the people. The role the judiciary played during the period covered in this book is also well explained.

I love the use of quotes at the beginning of each chapter. The quotes are from prominent people, such as one from Abraham Lincoln. The quote I love most is by Bryan Stevenson on the true measure of our character. I also love that the author, William Cooper is an attorney, and I’m glad to have read this book as I look forward to being an advocate in Kenya.

I have nothing to dislike in this book. I found no single error when reading, proving that the book was exceptionally well edited.

I rate this book five out of five stars. This is because the book is easy to read due to the division of chapters into short sections. This makes it easy to understand the author. The chapters have also been arranged in chronological order, which makes it easy to follow the events in the book.

This book is a good recommendation for individuals interested in American politics. It sets out the parties that are in the House of Representatives and the party that supports Donald Trump. It is also a good recommendation for any person who has an interest in learning how the judiciary works to ensure checks and balances in the arms of government and how its independence is imperative in society.
