We often hear how communication is the essence of building successful relationships. Dr. Berrah has taken the concept of communication to different heights and has proven how powerful communication can be. He used words instead of arms, and this approach has averted wars and brought calm, peace, and stability in many places in Africa. In A Dream for Peace, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah shares his inspirational life story, and we learn how he became an influential ambassador.

Dr. Berrah was the youngest of six children. When he was five years old, his father passed away. His mother raised him, ensured he got the best education, and taught him about his culture and religion. While at school, he experienced racism and also witnessed other people suffering. He decided to speak out against injustices and became an activist and a respectable leader. This decision was the beginning of an arduous but fulfilling journey.

There were no aspects of the book that I disliked. In fact, I enjoyed this exceptionally well-edited memoir. The book is arranged chronologically and is easy to follow. The honesty and vulnerability of the author made it easy to relate, empathize, and understand the driving force behind some of his decisions. I liked how he was a family-oriented man who was devoted to his family. I loved how he loved his wife and family and how he treated the women in his life. The photos in this memoir were a welcome addition that enabled me to put a face to a name.

This memoir teaches readers how to be good people and shows the benefits of an equal and level playing ground. Dr. Berrah also shows how one can achieve multiple things in this lifetime. Not only was he an avid ambassador, but he was also an astute scientist who contributed immensely to the field of science.

I rate this memoir 5 out of 5 stars. Dr. Berrah has lived a selfless life and has devoted his life to serving humankind. His values and morals are characteristics that I like and wish to emulate in my life. He is an inspirational man and has inspired me to stand up for justice and for those who are disadvantaged wherever I can.

If you enjoy inspirational memoirs that promote peace, love, and justice, you will enjoy this book. It is an elegant display of how communication can broker peace, understanding, and compromises that benefit all parties. Historians will also enjoy this memoir.

The contributions Dr. Berrah done in his country, Cote d'Ivoire, and other countries in Africa are remarkable. He is indeed a hero to his fellow countrymen. This book is lengthy but informative. I've learned some historical facts about countries in Africa. Thanks for your incredible review, Elina!

Thank you for the fantastic review Elina. I like that you've made it through the 600+pages and read about a great man.
As you said, Dr. Berrrah achieved a whole lot with dialogue.
