Review of In Plain Sight
In Plain Sight by Susan Mallett is a narrative of extraordinary events that happened in the year 2022. The year started with the end of COVID restrictions because of Omicron, the current dominant variant. Although it is highly transmissible, Omicron had milder symptoms. But the government was adamant that people get vaccinated. Did they really care for the health of the people? Or was it all political? Meanwhile, Russia had invaded Ukraine. Countries like the US were giving large sums of money and support to Ukraine. But did they want the war to end quickly? Or did they want it to keep going for other reasons?
In the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson stepped down. Would his successor do a better job than him? Or would they also fail? And now, the world is on the brink of financial and energy crises because of the Ukraine War and the after-effects of the pandemic lockdown. In Plain Sight is a book that will open your eyes and make you see the world as it was meant to be seen.
What I liked the most about this book was the author’s writing style. It was clear that the author was very knowledgeable about the topics that were discussed in this book. The author's explanation of each event was very detailed and easy to understand. I also enjoy the author's criticism of everything that happened. From the COVID vaccine's effectiveness to the real cause of the energy crisis that hit the UK, this book was truly an eye-opener.
I never even once considered anything the author wrote here before. But after reading this book, I began to think that the author may have a point. The information the government supplied us throughout the year couldn't be the whole truth, and that information could have been manipulated to support the government's or the ruling class' control over the population. I want to congratulate the author for making me rethink everything I thought I knew.
I had nothing to dislike about this book. I found a single error, but it didn’t reduce the reading experience in any way. So I can say that this book is professionally edited. I gladly rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book provided a fresh perspective and insight into many events that shaped the turbulent year. It made me rethink everything I believe about COVID, the Ukraine War, and the world's financial crisis.
I recommend this book to readers who like to seek the truth in every piece of information that they receive. I would also recommend this book to more mature-minded readers because you would need a very open mind to listen to the author's messages in this book. Only by doing so will you be able to fully enjoy this book.
