[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The World According to Gerry" by Gerry Finkel.]

The World According to Gerry by Gerry Finkel follows the life of Gerry, an eighty-three-year-old academic pathologist who, after retirement, decides to let us in on his many philosophical thoughts about life. They include thoughts on the concept of time, the importance of books, what self and non-self entail, and concepts of arts and music, to mention a few. Owing to his sharp mind and intellect, you'd be left amazed at the brilliance Gerry exuded in this work on the aforestated topics.

One major thing I loved about this book was how the author shared his views but still gave room for individual thoughts and opinions on them. While he didn't posit that his thoughts were a hundred percent true, he was willing to defend them with factual information. He gave room for doubt and further research. I loved how passionately Gerry wrote in this book. He wrote mostly from experience and used fictional and nonfictional stories to buttress his points. I once studied philosophy, so I was able to understand most of his points without a second read. My favorite quote from the book was one of Socrates’ sayings; "An unexamined life is not worth living." Overall, I loved the language used in this book. The accommodating tone employed by the author gave me an amazing reading experience because it encouraged me to think independently about the topics the author discussed. The fact that the book was free from grammatical errors proved that it was exceptionally well edited.

I didn't notice anything worth disliking or criticizing about this book. It was a pleasure to read and learn from the experiences of Gerry Finkel.

I rate The World According to Gerry by Gerry Finkel five out of five stars for obvious reasons. There's nothing to dislike about the book, so there's no need to remove a star from it.

I recommend this book to readers who wish to see life beyond its superficial meaning and learn from the experienced mind of Gerry Finkel.

In this fast-paced world we live in today, it is refreshing to pause and reflect on the world and how much it has changed in the last decades. Gerry is many decades old and that extends the scope of this observation. I am curious as to why he resorted to fictitious stories. I think it would be enough for him to tell his own stories and those of people he knows. I enjoyed reading the review and I am going to add this book to my shelves.

The extraordinary character growth in "The World According to Gerry" is one of its most outstanding features. The protagonist, Gerry, is a complicated and multifaceted character with depths.

Today's fast-paced society makes it reassuring to take a moment to consider how dramatically the world has changed over the past few decades. Gerry is a very old man, therefore this observation is more extensive. Why he turned to made-up stories intrigues me. He could probably get away with just telling his own and other individuals he knows' stories.

I appreciate that Gerry was able to get thoughts on paper to share. I appreciate, also, that the author didn't always need to be right.

This was a boosting memory and intelligence book concept. We always learn from adults who have so much experience in life. Gerry is indeed a smart author; I was pleased to read his book. I've been interested in philosophy lately, so I'll give this book a try. Overall, this was an amazing review.
