A Dream for Peace is a masterfully written memoir by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, a renowned diplomat who is devoted to his native Algeria. The book is an engrossing memoir that takes readers on a poignant trip into the life of the author, from seeing and helping to bring about the end of French colonialism in his native Algeria to traveling throughout many nations and finally coming home to serve his people. Berrah was raised by a devoted and sympathetic mother. The narrative describes the author's struggle for his people's rights. He was an Algerian, and his country had been colonized by the French who had settled there. He continued on to study medicine, where he had the opportunity to observe racism in action firsthand. As a medical student, the author laboriously established numerous political organizations to educate other students about the value of joining. After he explained that the goal was to defeat the French citizens living in his country, many offered to fight alongside him.

The pictures used by the author in the book enhance the thrill and sense of suspense by precisely complementing the plot. It was a pleasant experience to be able to observe the images while reading. I found it easy to understand the book because of its concise and simple language. The author not only wrote a compelling story, but he also did a fantastic job of describing several places and social events that were shown in the book. I enjoyed Berrah's frank writing regarding colonialism. I like that he was honest about his experiences. Berrah's involvement in the opposition struck me as commendable. He was indeed brave. The lack of discrimination displayed by Berrah is another quality I like. He promoted peaceful cooperation and welcomed everyone, despite the differences. I adore how he and his wife respected and accepted one another's religious convictions.

There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was intriguing and inspiring. I was able to gain a thorough understanding of Dr. Berrah's religious beliefs, romantic relationships, and political stance since he went into great length in this book without losing sight of the major idea. Additionally, his impeccable selection of words and phrasing helped me expand my vocabulary.

There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited. As a result, I am rating this book, A Dream for Peace, 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend A Dream for Peace to readers who enjoy reading about African history.
