28 Disastrous Dates: A (mostly True) Humourous Memoir by Poppy Mortimer is a book that tells the story of a person's dating life through a series of stories. Poppy Mortimer has been searching for the love of her life. She has tried every means, from meeting in person to online dating, which did not end successfully. This book tells us about the various (28) dates that Poppy has been through and how horrible, cringe and downright terrifying those dates were. The question that we all have when reading the title is how disastrous these dates can be, and you'll be surprised.

This book made me laugh a lot. The author has written this book in a way that is easy to read and understand. It is very well edited and does not contain any errors. This book is hilarious, the dates are so bizarre and some are even creepy, her writing is fun, entertaining, and even emotional. Poppy is a confident and independent woman who knows what she wants. She has traveled to many places in this world and has met many different types of men. She even talks about her weaknesses and tries to work on them.

The book title describes the content of the book entirely! I liked how she put trigger warnings in the chapters that needed them and how she divided the chapters into different parts that made them easy to understand and kept them short and sweet. She even wrote what she learned from the dates. I really wanted to throw out this book at times when the men she dated were disgusting and revolting! I found this book empowering, and very true to how society can be towards females.

What I did not like was how she sometimes described other people and body-shamed them, but that did not happen often, so I will give this book 5 out of 5 stars because this book deserves all the stars.

This book contains adult content. Hence, I would not recommend it to people who do not like it, but I would definitely recommend this book to people who appreciate humor and want a light and funny read.
