28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humourous Memoir by Poppy Mortimer is a combination of heartful laughs and awful disappointments. In this book , the author goes on to describe her 28 dates. They are titled as date 1, date 2 and so on. In every date she mentions the place , who proposed, where they met and the actual date. She has named the dates creatively and purposefully to suit the nuisance depicted by her different dates. At the end of every date she lets out a lesson she learnt from it , which is for her to not repeat and for us to learn along. At the end of the book, she summarises all the lessons pointwise.

I found this book to be a very casual read. One which we can be read anytime and get some real entertainment. I repeat , this was really entertaining! This book took me through so many emotions. Most of them were laughs , but they also included disgust, anger or feeling bad for the author. I was so angry with her date named Alfie who straightforwardly lied to her about being a vegetarian. The muscleman one was funny to begin with but was so disgusting by the end. I could feel suffocation just by reading it. Mr Jet ski warned about male ego. I felt very bad for the guy who was allergic to food , in that date , no one was at fault.

The tone of the author was very much like she is letting it out to a friend. It felt really personal like that. It was also clear that the author was often swayed by the looks of her dates , but later amazed by their behaviour. This proves that first impression and looks are only temporary , only behavioural attraction can keep it going.

There was nothing I disliked about this book.I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. I did not found any grammatical errors or spelling mistake throughout the book, so this book was exceptionally well edited.

I would recommend this book to women who are looking forward to date. It will help a lot in what to look for. It will teach you red flags and your self worth . I also suggest this book to men who would like to learn what women might dislike in men. Also, anyone who is looking for a fun read can definitely give it a go.
