Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a comprehensive guide that emphasises the importance of preparation. The book provides readers with valuable information and actionable steps to create a sound financial strategy. The author highlights the significance of organising finances to enjoy a comfortable life during retirement. The book is divided into chapters, each covering a specific aspect of retirement planning. It starts with an introduction to the concept of retirement and the reasons why retirement planning is crucial. The author emphasises that income should be the foundation of any retirement plan. The book discusses insurance topics like life insurance and disability insurance, along with budgeting and career evaluation. Throughout the book, the author stresses the importance of planning ahead, drawing a parallel with how cooking requires pre-preparation.

The writing in this book is brilliant. While the primary focus is on achieving a successful retirement, it also includes chapters on proper career planning and self-assessment. Overall, the book aims to provide actionable steps for readers to prepare for their future after retirement, stressing that it's never too early or too late to make positive changes in life. Additionally, the book features embedded jokes, adding a touch of humour to the content.

There is nothing that I disliked about the book. The book explores the process of assessment, providing readers with resources such as websites to help them evaluate their career and personal skills, which is a wonderful addition. There are no errors, and it is very well edited.

Each chapter focuses on a specific topic, making it easier to absorb the information. The author also shares personal experiences, making the content more relatable and engaging. The book is well-written and informative, with concise descriptions that allow the narrative to flow smoothly. The author's extensive research and knowledge are evident, as seen in the inclusion of specific dates and attention to detail. However, the book is primarily targeted at readers in the United States, which may limit its relatability for readers outside the country. Nonetheless, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The book serves as a guide for readers of all ages, offering practical advice on understanding oneself better, planning finances holistically, and achieving a fulfilling retirement. This book will serve as a wonderful guide for people aged between 30 and 50 to plan ahead for life after retirement.
