"A Dream For Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir that provides readers with an intimate look into the author's life. The story opens with Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's early years growing up in Algeria under French colonial rule. The author discusses in detail the harsh treatment of Algerians by French colonial authorities and how it affected Dr. Berrah's determination to fight for his people's rights. Despite his challenging circumstances, Dr. Berrah did exceptionally well in school and was given a scholarship to study medicine in France.

This book appeals to me because it enlightens you on a variety of topics. The author's writing was sophisticated, but I think this just goes to show how much education and experience he had overall. I also liked the fact that he joined the Moroccan Liberation Army, which further demonstrates his courage. I particularly appreciated how close Dr. Berrah and President Houphouet-Boigny's relationship was, as demonstrated by the fact that he referred to the latter as his father. The book was flawlessly edited, and there were no typographical errors.

I liked the author's use of imagery in the book and how it perfectly complements the tale, adding depth and richness to the overall reading experience. The vivid descriptions allowed me to immerse myself in the story and truly visualize the scenes and characters. Additionally, the author's use of symbolism added another layer of meaning to the narrative, making it even more thought-provoking and captivating, adding to the excitement and sense of suspense. Reading while being able to view the rich graphics was a revitalizing experience. I found it easy to understand the book because of his clear and succinct language. Along with the engaging story, the author did a fantastic job of describing the many locations and social events that are covered in the book. I was able to become even more lost in the story because this gave me some much-needed perspective. There was absolutely nothing I didn't like about this book.

I give this book a maximum rating of 5 out of 5 because it was refreshing to get a first-person view of the Algerian struggle for independence. I recommend this book to every reader interested in Africa's rich history.
