Review of Profound Secrets of Jesus and His Inner Circle
Profound Secrets of Jesus and His Inner Circle by Patrick B. Cage is a novel that sheds light on some overlooked but important biblical principles. This book also explains mysteries that baffle even the most learned biblical scholars and historians.
The book discusses many unresolved and controversial topics in Christianity that can contradict most beliefs but must be discussed. Issues about the virgin birth, the Jews and Gentiles, the resurrection, miracles performed, the actual existence of Jesus, his treatment of women around him, his betrayal by Judas, his denial by Peter, and so much more are debated in this book, with the author giving his perspective and outlook on the matter with evidence carefully presented, referenced, and catalogued for the proper defence of his thinking and perspective.
There are several positive aspects of this book. First, this book was quite informative, and it helps the mind wonder about the events that happened in a time that defined Christianity, one of the world's leading religions or faiths. As every detail of history cannot be so accurately captured, we are obligated to use the bits of captured history to recreate and understand the happenings of the particular era to the best of our abilities. Second, it also calls for critical thinking to deduce the meaning behind some cryptic messages and details in the Bible. This can be interpreted in many ways, and it sometimes needs the help of a professional to be guided on the correct path. Another positive aspect is that certain claims made in the book were properly referenced.
However, I have a point of concern about this book. The book was written as a personal interpretation of biblical events based on the author's understanding of the Bible and conclusions. Thus, the book's contents are highly debatable in Christendom and do not have a binding effect on Christians.
The book was professionally edited, and I did not find any errors. Added to the positive aspects identified above, I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating. This rating is independent of the negatives identified above. I believe that the author logically marshalled out his views on Christian debatable points, effectively using references to the Bible. I will recommend this book to Christians who want to understand the secrets and mysteries surrounding the existence of Jesus, the pillar of Christianity.
