There is an easygoing and engaging conversational style in the well-written book Niching Up by Chris Dreyer. He shares how he accidentally discovered a niche market, shares what he learned, explains how he benefited from it, and encourages business owners to look into their own suitability for using niche marketing.

It seems contrary to the thought that narrowing the potential customer base would increase a business's profits, but it can work and work very well which Dreyer explains in detail.

Mr. Dreyer doesn't hide the drawbacks from his readers, but he quickly tackles the cons in an upfront manner right away in chapter one. He also explains this marketing technique may not be for every business and encourages business owners to determine suitability for themselves. He also examines how the major drawbacks may be related and layered but he goes on to explain how to work through them.

Dreyer places an emphasis on market research to identify and understand potential niches to find and market to a target audience. He advocates using storytelling (which he is adept at), branding, and marketing to understand how these strategies can make a business stand out and build a loyal customer base.

Common challenges like pricing strategies and competition, are discussed and addressed with practical solutions drawn from his own personal experiences in business. This helps motivate his readers to have the confidence to take decisive action to grow their business.

As a business owner myself, I was encouraged by the reading of this book. It brought new concepts to the table that I will be able to take forward with me which is why I gave it five out of five stars. I feel Dreye has offered a fairly comprehensive and actional guide to help business owners discover untapped markets. This was a fun and informative read. I found myself laughing at some of the stories, and I also learned some thing I will put into practice. If you are a business owner, you should take a look at this book and consider how niche marketing can be put to use for your situation.
