Title: Purpose
This book was very well-written and well organized to offer guidance on finding one’s purpose and using that purpose to develop a community that could benefit from it. The book goes on to describe in great detail how a person can use technology to advance one’s purpose into action and create a cultural change to move quicker toward the futures we can potentially help build among that community.
I found what I was looking for by taking inventory of my current story by recounting the moments filled with courage, grace, pride and fulfillment. Defining one’s meaning, purpose and vision is truly the first step in the process. That was enough for me at this point in my life. I don’t see myself putting in the work it would take to build a community and share my purpose with them to help them shape their own future. Perhaps I’m just not focused enough or brave enough to pursue this huge endeavor. It was a little overwhelming to imagine myself actually accomplishing what some people might find extremely exhilarating and challenging.
For those who are passionate about doing the work, there is a wealth of information contained in this book. It basically takes the reader through the steps the author has personally developed based on years of experience and the knowledge she has gained from watching other people go through the process. She includes not only what is tried and true, but also the pitfalls and counterproductive actions to avoid.
All this is based on the the Community Design™ Plan the author has developed and presents to live audiences. In the book the author takes the reader through a number of very specific steps to arrive at certain conclusions about oneself and one’s purpose. It details how to grow those revelations of purpose by creating a community of people who could ultimately benefit from that purpose and empower that community to change their own future to be more meaningful.
This book is certainly inspirational to anyone who wants to explore the potential impact they could accomplish with enough personal discipline and commitment.
It was free of any grammatical or spelling errors that could distract from the greater meaning which is displayed so brilliantly. For these reasons, I would rate this book 5 out of 5.
