I had doubts when I first started reading Purpose, I was worried that the author was taking me on a networking history quest of the 1980’s and 1990’s. I soon realized that she was sharing her work history which would further help me understand the reason she wrote her book.
This non fiction guides the reader to envision a better future for themselves through reflection where you see your past experiences, accomplishments and the difference you have made in other peoples lives. She takes you on her social net journey and how it shaped her need to improve people’s views in the present social media service.
The reader is encouraged to look towards a future where they can build relationships and meet people who also want to make changes in their lives.
The author improved my knowledge of the net and how I am somewhat dependent of it. I enjoyed the history of the internet and how it has formed our lives.
You cannot read this book if your mind is elsewhere due to it’s reflective nature.
It was difficult for me to reminisce in my past as the author suggested but she does encourage the reader to see the world with different eyes.
Finally I would recommend this book to young adults and seniors who want to get away from the present ways of broadcasting information and move towards a plan where communicating with one another is key. Sharing your ideas, passion and interest like minded individuals where a web village can grow and prosper Is powerful.
On a scale of one to five, I would rate it as a 4 out of 5 because it is current, relevant and allows us to contemplate on what is important in our lives while helping others weave meaningful networks where learning is accessible.
