5 Steps to Living a Happier and more Enlightened Life, written by Jennifer Rossouw, is a short, helpful guideline that points out ways that you can really live a happier, more enlightened life. Besides it being classified as a self-help book, it was also extremely inspirational. The stories in the book are supposed to have come from the author's own experiences after her father's death in 2004. She is now a Reiki Master/Practitioner with a heart for helping people.

I chose to read this book, because in my current Grad school Psychology studies, we are on a self-help binge, and this book fit into my studies perfectly. I was a little nervous about picking this book up at first, because my brain is almost fried by all of my studying, and the books I'm actually required to read. However, once I started reading the book, I really appreciated that the author spoke in normal terms, and there weren't any big words that I had to look up (for once).

The beginning of the book starts of with 3 pages of "Quotes worth Remembering". These quotes are from a variety of sources, including Steve Jobs, Jillian Michaels, and Oprah. I thought several of these quotes were great, and have since added them to my personal motivation board. After the quotes, the author provides a short introduction letting you know that the 5 steps mentioned in the book were implemented into her own life, and she saw a major improvement. It's important to remember that these steps may not work for everybody, and in order to be successful with this process, you must be fully committed to it.

Without giving too much away (it's a very short book), the next chapters cover Self-Acceptance, Be Gentle (great chapter), Live More Consciously, With Gratitude (also great chapter), and Find Your Passion and Your Gift. I found that once I got past the quotes and the into, I really couldn't put the book down, and had it finished in minutes.

I would recommend this book to just about anyone. I think that everybody can find at least one thing in this book that speaks to them, whether it's a quote at the beginning, or a whole chapter of the book. This book is short, but the content is deep. Besides being 'self-help', this book was extremely inspirational, and has given me many things to think about in my life right now. I give this 4 out of 4 Stars.

This is a beautiful review and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel honoured and grateful that you took the time to read my book, but even more so, that it inspired you, as that is what I set out to do, when I wrote it.

I hope that it will continue to inspire you throughout your life and wish you all the best with your studies, but most of all, I wish you an abundance of love and light.

Thank you, I appreciate that. (My apologies for the belated reply... I am normally not this bad). But with my recent launch at SKOOBS Book Store, Monte Casino (S.A.) I was so busy planning, that I never got around to catching up on this site...

Wish you well and love and light.
