Purpose is an expression of our values, is what makes us get up every morning. Purpose is, undoubtedly, the motor of our lives. But how can you identify said purpose?

In her book “Purpose”, Gina Bianchini, founder and executive director of Mighty Networks, addresses the importance of finding purpose in our lives and how it can lead to greater fulfillment and success. The author delves into the idea that purpose is not just a lofty concept, but something that can be practical and actionable. She provides insights and strategies for discovering and living out our purpose, drawing from her own experiences and research.

Bianchini shares her own life story, reflecting on the key role that the search of purpose has played throughout her life and successful career. Before creating Mighty Networks, she founded Ning Networks along with Facebook’s creator, Mark Zuckerberg, who supported her excitements.

Quoting the author, “people aren’t just meant to survive, they are wired to do something more”. Bianchini accompanies you through your own journey of finding your purpose, or rather, purposes, as she says your purpose will be formed by several aspects. Providing her own examples to the techniques and even other people’s fulfillment of said techniques, she introduces the reader to “Your Purpose 30” or “Your Future Story”, among other helpful methods to find your purpose.

She covers as well the importance of technology, how it seems almost magical to her, and how she has always seen it as a convenient tool full of potential. Communities are of extreme importance to her, too, and how they helped her to see her purpose clearly; differentiating between your first community, from whom you’ve learnt values, traditions and beliefs, and your core community, one you have chosen once you’ve defined yourself.

Overall, the book aims to inspire readers to reflect on their own purpose and take steps towards living a more purposeful life, providing all the aids and support to do so. I definetely enjoyed the book, which is why it is a solid 4 out of 5 and, without any doubts, recommend it to those who want to define and make the most of their lives.
