This review is for the book "Involuntary reroute" written by Robert Laney. This book is about mother and son duo, Robert (the author) and his mother Jackie and their ordeal in building their travel agency business, their failures and their perseverance to not give up. The book is based on real-life incidents they faced when they decided to start an airline ticketing agency when Robert was just 19 years old and persuing his bachelors degree.

They decide to start a travel agency as Jackie was already experienced in similar business. However, they do not have any money in hand to start the business. So Robert decides to use the AD75, the hidden discount offered by airlines to travel agents for ticket bookings as a basis to finance his business. The author goes on to explain his ordeal in the process of making his business successful only to see it failing because of the greediness of people and the airlines. However, his zeal for success and learning to mend his mistakes help him become successful at the end.

The chapters are small, succinct, easy to read with simple english and funny at times. It helps readers understand what actually goes on behind the curtains in the airlines business. I very much liked the book and give it a 5 out of 5 star.
