I gave Thriving in the Storm: Nine Principles to Help You Overcome Any Adversity a 4 out of 5 review. It is a very well-written book by William Murphy that I found better written than some other self-help books that I've read in the past. William gives you several examples of adversity that he has experienced throughout his life and gave examples of the tools and techniques he used to help "weather the storm" of whatever life may throw at you. The book gives you a starting point to identify things that have happened in your past so that you will be able to move forward and make a plan to get to the goals that you've established.

Each chapter includes specific exercises for you to complete to help you map out your plan to help you achieve your goals and move forward. I liked how each exercise asked you questions that dug deeper into the root of what may be holding you back. I also liked how the exercises related back to the previous chapter or previous examples to help you continue on your path of weathering the storm. I read a PDF copy of this book, so I wish I would have been able to write within the margins of the physical book as I read it, but it will definitely be something that I will continuously pull out of my files to complete the exercises to take a step back and help me map out the best path for moving ahead when I am faced with a "storm".

I definitely recommend this book to a friend or someone who wants to help them improve or help them map out their goals and achieve them. The book gives you steps to organize your life, provides structure, and tells you the discipline needed to achieve your goals. The tools outlined in the book will help you achieve your goals so much easier.
