The Three Heavens by Paul Hitchiner is a thought-provoking and detailed exploration of Christianity, specifically focusing on the construction of the Tabernacle as described in the book of Exodus. The book centers around the legend and description of the 3 Heavens, which correspond to the three areas of the Tabernacle: the Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. Hitchiner explains that the first heaven represents accessibility for all individuals who have dedicated themselves as sacrifices for their faith, while the second heaven is reserved for those who have attained holiness, and the third heaven is attainable only by those who have achieved the state of perfection. In challenging the notion of salvation by faith alone, the author encourages Christians to engage in good deeds and display compassion for those who need it, echoing Jesus' teachings in many renditions mentioned in the book. The book underscores the importance of selfless love, forgiveness, and mercy while advocating for humble leadership within the church. Hitchiner delves into chapters of the Bible to provide a comprehensive understanding of the meaning behind the Tabernacle and its significance for believers.

One of the book's strengths is Hitchiner's ability to blend his teachings with personal experiences, which adds authenticity and relatability to his message. By weaving his own life stories into the narrative, he effectively illustrates the practical application of Christian principles in everyday situations. Additionally, the author addresses common misconceptions and doubts, offering clarity on complex topics such as being reborn and the role of repentance in salvation. He confronts societal issues, including dishonesty, while emphasizing the significance of righteousness and striving for a holy life.

I enjoyed reading this book. I appreciated how Hitchiner shed light on theological dilemmas that had previously puzzled me. His explanation of the relationship between Jesus' sacrifice and the necessity for repentance brought clarity to an often-confusing topic. Moreover, his emphasis on the pursuit of righteousness resonated deeply, reminding me of the ongoing journey towards holiness. Furthermore, Hitchiner's candid approach is refreshing. He fearlessly addresses the flaws and misdeeds exhibited by Christians, including those in positions of authority within the church. This honest critique encourages self-reflection and prompts believers to align their actions with their professed faith. Hitchiner's clear explanations, engaging narrative style, and willingness to confront challenging topics make this book an invaluable resource for believers seeking a more profound spiritual understanding. It serves as a reminder to continuously strive for righteousness and to approach faith with humility, love, and compassion.

There are no aspects of this book that I dislike. I am not a very religious person, but this book was easy to read and understand regardless of that fact. The book also seems to have been professionally edited, as I found only one mistake.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This is an informative and enlightening book that deepens one's understanding of Christianity. I would recommend this book to people who want to deepen their understanding of Christianity. However, this book might not be appropriate for readers who don’t resonate with Christian beliefs.
