Reading Doodle Inspiration, you will learn that doodling is more than mindless scribbling, that a doodle can truly be art and what supplies you need to start doodling. You will be introduced to the doodle basics, easy doodle exercises and different doodle methods. You will also find doodle examples and ideas in this book.

The book Doodle Inspiration by Janet Giessl is a non–fiction book dedicated to everyone who wishes to explore the art of doodling and their own creativity. You will find this book useful, whether you are an experienced drawer or a complete beginner.

Doodle Inspiration is divided into relevant chapters where the author explains what is doodling, and how everyone can learn to do it. The book starts with interesting examples of why doodling can be immensely beneficial for us. The author writes that doodling improves our memory, attention, makes us focus better, and feel relaxed. Doodling is also amazing with helping us to unlock our creativity. The best thing about doodling is that everyone can do it, without having to be an artist. Although, once you start to focus on what shapes and designs you create, doodling becomes a mindful artwork.

The author comprehensibly introduces us to the visual alphabet of doodling. She names (and draws) the basic doodle shapes, gives examples of how to use letters and numbers in doodling, how to create different patterns, borders and frames. For me, the most interesting chapter is the one where the author introduces us to the Mandala doodling and to the Zendoodle: special kinds of advanced, more artistic doodling. The author pays attention to many different techniques, and gives examples of how it’s possible to include more doodling in our daily lives.

Doodle Inspiration is well organized and logically structured into sections. It is important to highlight that this is not a book with detailed how–to instructions, but it still gives all the relevant examples. The author writes in understandable manner and shares many useful advice. Doodle Inspirations is a coherent guide with no complicated techniques. All the steps of learning how to doodle are easily understandable and consistent.

I picked up this book because I am really interested in improving my drawing techniques, and I have always wanted to learn more about the creative art of doodling. After reading Doodle Inspiration, I find that the book is a great beginner’s guide for anyone interested in this subject. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I have enjoyed this book so much, and I would highly recommend it to anyone, literally anyone, whether interested in art and drawing, or not. Doodling is a beautiful and creative activity that everyone could use more in their life.

Thank you so much! If she likes to doodle, then this would be the perfect book for her. I'm sure she would enjoy it. I know I did, and I'm 26 years old :tiphat:
