Discrimination and racism can happen to anyone. Sadly, until this day, a lot of people experience this kind of mistreatment all over the world. However, what are the steps that can be done to avoid discrimination?

Addressing Systematic Discrimination by Reframing the Problem is a self-help book by Dr. Frank L. Douglas. In this book, he presents two chapters that focus on equity, inclusion, and the reframing process. This book presents case studies of individuals who have encountered discrimination or racism in their lives.

First of all, I honestly enjoyed reading this book so much. This is a bit different from the books I get to review, and I am glad to be able to read and review this. One of the strongest points of this book is that the author is knowledgeable about the different concepts that deal with discrimination and racism. In addition to that, he was able to talk about concepts such as microassault, microinsult, and microinvalidations. The author explained these very well. Because of that, he was able to effectively explain different concepts for readers to understand the subject matter more.

Aside from that, one of the things I loved about this book is the presentation of case studies of different individuals. At the beginning of the book, I thought that it was lacking concrete examples. However, I was so happy to see that there were case studies of the people presented in the second chapter since it talked about the reframing process. This is one of the things I loved about this book because readers can able to understand and analyze the situations and see the solutions or the processes that can be done effectively by the affected individuals. I also think that this book is easy to read and the author did a great job in talking about the topics without overwhelming its readers.

Overall, I find this book to be exceptionally well-edited since I did not find any errors. I would rate this book 5 out of 5. This is a great book that anyone should be reading. There is also nothing I disliked about this book.

I would recommend this book to adult readers who have experienced discrimination or inequality in the workplace or their personal lives. This book will be able to give you a good grasp on how to deal with these toxic situations. This book will also enlighten you regarding discrimination and racism a lot more.
