Review of Purpose
The book, PURPOSE DESIGN A COMMUNITY & CHANGE YOUR LIFE A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO FINDING YOUR PURPOSE AND MAKING IT MATTER by GINA BIANCHINI shows you step-by-step, how to take your shared passion or goal and put it into action. You will learn how to take your purpose digital by building your own network and expanding your community. Mapping out your community with shared challenges and shared understandings will attract your ideal member. Purpose is a practice and you will learn the formula to motivate your community but also how to launch it into action.
This book has a lot of positive aspects to it. It takes the reader on a journey of self-reflection and goal-setting. Putting this into practice will help you build and motivate not only yourself but your community as well. In the book, the author states, “Your community is a chrysalis-no one will enter it and emerge exactly the same as they were before yourself included.”The transformation you and your community will experience will forever be life-changing.
My only negative aspect was not being able to understand some of the business terminology or lingo. There is a glossary at the end of the book, which I did not realize at the beginning of my reading. Specifically in Chapter 11, *MORE EXAMPLES TO INSPIRE YOUR UNIQUE BIG PURPOSE.* I did not know what a DAO curious entrepreneur was yet it was later explained at the end of the book in notes and citations. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars being that it is thought-provoking making you to stop and think- what do I want for not only my future self but my future community, as well. The social media terminology or lingo; as its called and for those who are not familiar with it will not connect with the book, feeling left out in space. Overall, the writing is strong, yet it loses the reader not up to par with business and social media lingo.
I would recommend this book to someone who is in a transitional phase of life. One who is seeking a change or new adventure in life amongst other like-minded people. Together, you can transition into your new community.
