Alec's death, caused by his drug addiction, devastated his mother, Cindy. Cindy believes that Alec's odd behaviors result from his Asperger's disorder and ADHD, as both of these conditions affect him. She felt, as a mother, that she didn't fully comprehend her son when he was alive. This encouraged Cindy to learn more about the life and afterlife of her beloved son. As a parent who has lost a child, it will be very painful. But in the end, Alec was able to persuade his mother to survive and to forgive herself through the transcendental conversation they had.

I could never even imagine about the afterlife. However, this book, A Voice from Heaven: From Earthly Struggles to Thriving in the Afterlife by Alexander V. Girman and Cynthia J. Girman, manages to capture the afterlife and may even be quite beautiful. I think the writer succeeded in conveying the most important message, which is to learn more about drug addiction and how to treat it. Of course, this will be very beneficial for those individuals and parents who are battling their addictions as well as those of their loved ones, encouraging them to appreciate life, hope, love, forgiveness, and mindfulness.

Honest feelings that are poured into written sentences are the best thing in this book. This makes me feel that I am not just reading a book but also getting guidance from someone who genuinely cares about me. Even the possibility that my conception of the hereafter may differ from what was written slipped my mind. I find the beginning to be a bit repetitious. But reading this book is a fascinating experience. The book has a few minor errors, but they don't detract much from the masterpiece. Therefore, I rate this book a solid five out of five stars.

I suggest this book to open-minded non-fiction readers. There are several valuable lessons we may learn to increase our appreciation for life.
