E. Alan Fleischauer's book "Reconfigurement" is aimed at helping people over the age of 40 make sufficient retirement preparations. It emphasizes the value of personal disability coverage and life insurance plans, as well as the need of saving, budget, and invest while working. The book urges readers to explore life through a variety of activities and to see their youth as a time for investment rather than frivolous consumption. Additionally, it recommends part-time and remote employment to promote financial independence. The reviewer lauds the book's perceptive writing, superb editing, and helpful links to financial and career resources.
What stands out in the book again is the author's attempt to make the serious subject of retirement planning more approachable and engaging. He infuses the text with humor and speaks informally, making the message memorable and easy to follow. The book provides valuable recommendations and expertise; ensuring readers won't be misled if they follow the advice.
One minor downside of this book is that it is somewhat geographically focused, with terms that may not be relatable to everyone. However, this doesn't overshadow the positive aspects of the book.
Despite this tiny flaw, the book is incredibly well-written and inspiring. I'll praise my execution, comedy, and wisdom while awarding it a perfect score of 5 out of 5. I'll suggest it to anyone thinking about financial restructuring for retirement.
Overall, "Reconfigurement" offers a funny and enlightening viewpoint on retirement planning and is a useful tool for financial planning.

This book is unique to me. It is one of the very few financial advising authors that talked about retirement. It jolted me to the reality that I won't remain in my prime forever. So I will do my best to apply the suggestions given in this book on how to plan for retirement.
