Review of Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France
In the book, Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France, the author, Michael C. Higgins, PhD, takes us on a virtual trip with photos and descriptive text through France. Filled with quality photos and detail, we learn about the culture and history of the Bordeaux wine region through the lens of the author's personal trip there.
I adored each of the places this book took me. I enjoyed it when the author covered Haut-Médoc (south), as the descriptions, photos, and day trip options sound incredibly fascinating to me. All in all, this book covers many details of the region, and I adore the attention to detail the author paid when writing it. Furthermore, the outstanding photography used displayed the authors' descriptions delightfully.
With this in mind, I found that the small font used due to the number of photos included made the book particularly difficult to read. I would’ve much preferred it if the text and the photos were separated to some degree to increase the font size, making this book a bit more accessible to read.
As the title tentatively suggests, this is a book about wine culture, pertaining to Bordeaux, France. By design, it is a lovely book for beginner wine lovers and seasoned connoisseurs alike. As this book pertains to wine and travel, I would not recommend it to people who do not enjoy these specific topics.
To conclude, I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a person who keenly enjoys tasting different wines and traveling, along with the history and culture that constructed the roots of these destinations and the wine itself. Furthermore, I did not detect any grammatical errors, naturally leading me to note that this book was exceptionally well edited. For the key reasons indicated above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Thank you! It is mostly photos, if you read it on an e-reader, it can be a bit challenging to read the text since it’s quite small. Take advantage of any zoom functions you have if you use an e-reader! It was quite lovely.Hazel Mae Bagarinao wrote: ↑12 Aug 2023, 00:53 I like wine and I like France for its overall beauty. I think I'll enjoy the gorgeous photographs in this book. Your review was lovely to read, Aspen!
