Exploring Wine Regions - Bordeaux France: Discover Wine, Food, Castles, and the French Way of Life (Exploring Wine Regions, 2) by author and photographer Michael C. Higgins, Ph.D., is a gorgeous, illustrated book that provides in-depth coverage of the area for prospective visitors, return visitors, or anyone that wants to learn more about the Bordeaux Region and winemaking or wine history. This is not just your average coffee table book, this is a travel planning guide, a wine education guide, and a beautiful set of almost 1,000 photographs.

Exploring Bourdeaux could be used to plan a trip to the Bourdeaux Region as it includes places to stay (including castles/Chateaus), all the best wineries you can actually visit, maps of the area, restaurants, and historical landmarks for the region. The end of the eBook gives you more information on how to get extra chapters and an app for your phone when travelling that will help you in the Bordeaux region.

The author, Michael C. Higgins, Ph.D., did an incredible amount of research in the Bordeaux region of France and his photographs are amazing. His knowledge of the Bordeaux area, wine, and winemaking is truly impressive. It would be a dream come true to go on a guided tour with the author describing the Bordeaux countryside while flying the plane!

I would rate this book as a 5 out of 5. This book appears to be professionally edited. There was one thing I did not like about this book and that is not improved upon easily (in my opinion). Due to the almost 1,000 photographs in the eBook, the file takes a little while to download (at least at my internet speeds). Someday, I hope to be able to visit the Bordeaux area in person and even more so after reading this book.
