I read this book over a year ago, so it is a little rough to remember accurate details. However, this book and the main point stuck with me and probably always will. I picked it up as a used book store, not fully understanding what I was getting myself into (I usually read reviews of a book before I read it), but I loved the message. I actually would love to read this one again. It is a true story about three main people: a homeless man named Denver who everyone is afraid of, and a husband and wife - Ron and Deborah. I will not give the story away, but it was an awakening story to me. Of course we all "know" that everyone is the same - while we look and act different, we are all people. We are taught this at an early age, but do we live that way? Do we respect one another that way? NOPE. The woman in this story, Deborah, pushed past the "fear" and appearance of the homeless man, Denver. She insisted on helping him. I will not give away any plot, but the rewards, the ache and pains of real life, all of the emotions in this story were simply overwhelming. I have seen reviews of this book on the negative side, because of the religious aspect to it, but if you are not religious, look past that. Remember that regardless of "why" Deborah was compelled to help, she HELPED other human beings that nobody else wanted to. It is definitely a book worth reading. As I already said, I plan on reading this one again someday.
