Scott Baradell’s book, Trust Signals, receives a rating of 5. His book is easy to read and understand for a person wanting to start up a business, an intermediate in the business field, or an expert wanting to improve his or her business brand. The only negative about the book is he needs to explain what some initials represent for those who do not understand business terms, for example, SEO and VC funding. Finding it necessary to stop and research the meaning interrupted the flow of reading.
Mr. Baradell has his thumb on the pulse of a current issue in today’s United States culture and how it affects business. The American people have learned not to trust, or at least trust but verify. His ability to recognize the need for change in business concerning PR practices to meet the challenges in today’s business environment is presented well in Trust Signals. The book provides confidence that he is an expert in PR and the desired digital presence a company needs to be successful in the current business environment.
He grabs the attention of the reader with the title of this book. The book follows through on expectations of learning about trust and ways to build it in business-to-business and business-to-customer situations. His work considers the mistrust of US culture and how it affects business today. He lays out a plan of action to build trust in customers and employees. His focus on internet interactions with different digital options to build trust is vital to today’s e-commerce.
His use of history, life events, and even fairy tales to explain his philosophy helps one grasp his ideas. Using repetition to build on what he has already demonstrated helps the reader remember what was previously explained. He uses the acronym TRUST to make it easy to remember the five things to build trust for business-to-customers and business-to-business.
He states on page 10 that “Trust Signals is all about the tools and tactics that businesses can use to build, grow, and protect their brands” His book is a thorough explanation of this statement with examples of how to implement practices to build trust brand for a business. This book would be an asset to anyone wanting to start a business, grow a business, or improve their business brand.
