Review of Giving Birth Doesn't Make You a Mother

Who is a mother? Most times, I see a lot of kids on the street without any direction, and then I begin to ask which kind of parent owns the kid. There are a lot of things we need to know about what being a mother is all about, and the book Giving Birth Doesn’t Make You a Mother by Veronica Finnegan is there to give us basic knowledge.
At the beginning of this book, the author narrates how she was able to adopt her son after a lot of challenges. In the other chapters, the author talked about parenting properly by defining what a mother is. Following the experiences of the author, who is a mother and also a therapist, she was able to carefully analyse the traumas children face, which most parents see as normal but, unknowingly, are damaging the child's mental health. Being a mother comes with a lot of sacrifices, which you have to make in order to be recognised as a successful mother. Redefining who a mother is is very important to help bring up kids with a sound mind whose mental health is intact. And with this book, I can say you are on the right track.
Following the era we are in today, where a lot of parents are so attached to their social media and give little or no time to their parental duties, there should be a way these issues need to be addressed, as this can leave a scar on the well-being of the child, and books of this nature are also a type of corrective measure, or rather campaign material, on the need to be attentive to a child's wellbeing. I loved the approach the author took in writing this book; it was more like a coaching class due to how she used her personal experiences and those from her work as a therapist. The writing style was so easy and clear. I also love the title of this book and the chapters that already gave the meaning from the first read.
From the content of this book, I can say that any parent can read and understand it on their own. This book was properly edited without any errors. I don’t have any challenges or dislikes for this book; hence, I will rate it five out of five stars.
