THE SIEGE is a book which gives an interesting account of one of the world's most barbaric terrorist attacks which brought India's fourth largest city and the country's economic capital to its knees shortly after 9:30 pm on 26/11/2008. This book is a product of author's brilliant narration which makes you feel that you were right there in the middle of the siege and author's brilliant research which made them interview thousands of people across four continents. The book is centrally written on the three days of terror inside the India's iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel .It also gives account of the mistakes made by Indian authorities and also the bravery of light armed police officers like Hemant Karkare, Ashok kamte and Vijaya Slaskar who were assaulted on their way to cama hospital by two terrorists and also like Vishwas Nagre Patil, Rajvardhan Sinha and others who narrowly escaped the slaughter also the unarmed security of the taj the black suites. It depicts a failure of imagination. Altogether its a must read for anybody who wants to understand that what really went wrong.
