Review of When Business Is Love
We live in a hectic world where stress rules our lives. The sad thing is that most of us think this is normal and that we just have to accept this situation. This is wrong, and it's where Hästen comes in, giving love and care, and providing the best beds to de-stress.
When Business Is Love by Jan Ryde is a nonfiction book written as a personal account of the values, beliefs, and principles that guide Jan Ryde's leadership at Hästen. Hästen is a 171-year-old bed manufacturing company founded on March 22, 1852, by Pehr Adolf Janson, the author's grandfather's grandfather. Right from then till date, Hästen has taken the world's simplest and most ancient piece of furniture, the bed, and sought to turn it into a soul-changing experience, bringing comfort to those who sought it.
This book is not just a book about beds designed and made by love, but a company fueled and driven by love. Jan's purpose of writing this book is to offer readers some new ideas about bringing more love, joy, peace, humility, gratitude, and abundance into the world. This thoughtful purpose of his is what I love about this book. Like who wouldn't? Every great company is a reflection of the vision of a leader. Jan Ryde sees love as the defining principle of his life and work, and wants not only to elevate the way we sleep but to elevate the way we live.
This book, with its chapters, reveals the not-so-hidden secret behind the success of Hästen. I learned a lot from this book and found nothing to hate about it. By the time readers finish reading this book, they'll know how to run their organizations and lives with the key ingredient so often overlooked in the business world. That ingredient is love. There's so much to grasp from this book. I am glad to have read it.
With all being said, finally, I rate When Business Is Love by Jan Ryde 5 out of 5 stars. This book is amazing, easy to read and understand, exceptionally well edited with no trace of typos, motivational, at a steady pace, and well constructed. I believe this book well deserves my rating with my praises and what I've said so far. I recommend this book to lovers of nonfiction books, readers seeking motivation, and those who are in search of the best beds on Earth. I do need to get myself a Hästen bed. And so do you.
