YOU CAN TALK TO ANYONE by Ellen Dawson is a step-by-step guide to the intentional enhancement of one's conversational skills and social interactions. The author experienced a change in her outgoing personality into one of loneliness due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She worked to get her interactive side back. In this book, she has jotted down ways to do the same. The book begins by explaining the research-proven benefits of being social. She explains the numerous methods of engaging in talks. There are several methods described, including information branching, narrative, rapport-building, and technology use. When talking with strangers, she suggested boundaries and safety precautions. Further, she went into great detail about joining or starting a conversational group. She discussed the conversational group's myths, advantages and disadvantages, facilitator, and suggestions for group activities. The book discusses friendships in the concluding part.

I absolutely adored this book. Never before have I seen a book that is so well organized. It is formatted correctly with headings, titles, subtitles, and subpoints. The information under all the headings is to-the-point and apt. This book has lots and lots of examples, which makes it super easy to follow. The techniques suggested are very actionable. I liked that nothing sounded like forcing ourselves to talk, as she mentioned that we should not agree unnecessarily or fake it to develop bonds. She suggested clues to cutting off if the energy is not matched from the other side.

With the choice of words and tone of narration, this book gave off an elegant vibe, like a standard textbook on a subject. I tried her technique of mindfully observing my surroundings to stay out of my head, and it was really helpful. Also, information branching and setting boundaries are valuable lessons that I learned from this book.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this book. I didn't find any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors throughout the book, so this book was exceptionally well edited. I happily rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I suggest this book to introverts, who will definitely find it useful. Anyone who has lost their talkative personality and wants to regain it can use this book as an effective toolkit.
