As you might guess, Purpose by Gina Bianchini is a book about finding your life’s purpose. But it’s also so much more. After some great ideas and clear directions to help the reader identify and define their purpose (or purposes!), the author proposes that true fulfillment in life comes from sharing that purpose with others through a community where people with the same ideas, problems, or interests can gather and connect. This book shows how to harness technology to create and grow a community, facilitate meaningful human connection, and ultimately change your life. The author starts with a clearly stated goal, introduces ideas and concepts, provides helpful guiding questions, and then follows up with real-life examples for clarity but also to prove the method works. The guiding questions are detailed enough to help you produce something highly useful, but generic enough that they can be applied to any facet of your life.

I truly enjoyed reading this book and found myself inspired to take action. The book is well written, taking an intimidating and daunting task, and turning it into something clear that sounds quite achievable. Any reservations I had along the way, it was like the author read my mind and addressed how to overcome them. I enjoyed reading the personal stories from both the author’s experience, and from those she has met along her journey. The experiences shared felt both valuable and relevant. As someone who is weary of social media, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be convinced about the use of technology. However, the author did an incredible job articulating the downsides of social media, and how online communities differ in ways that really matter. I found only one minor formatting error in the book, and I am happy to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is for someone of any generation with a desire for growth and improvement. I recommend having a highlighter on hand.
