Nine Months by Tania Tomyn is a short read and a personal non-fiction story of the author and her dog. Taniya Tomin, a successful business owner with fertility issues, has no children of her own, but love knows no boundaries. In this book, she talks about Wilbur, one of several dogs she adopted from rescue centers. She already had a dog, Hank, when she adopted Wilbur, who had some serious health issues unknown to them at the time of adoption. Wilbur, or Willy, snored very loudly, had severe itching, breathing issues, and some heart issues as well. But the author and her husband had no qualms about the expenses or the care he required. They loved him unconditionally, and Willie reciprocated their love.

Wilbur lived with them for nine months, and the author has described several anecdotes and Wilbur's ailments, visits to the vet, various treatments, and the diagnosis of cancer. She describes their four-day road trip across the country from Las Vegas to Detroit, Michigan, with two dogs, a friend, and his family. Wilbur was one lucky dog, having been adopted by such a loving couple after being abandoned by his previous owners. The author was fully supported by her husband, Aaoron, who was a doting dad to Wilbur and was very loving and caring to him.

It is a memoir written in very simple language and illustrates a couple's love for animals and their devotion to providing as much love and care as possible to abandoned and rescued dogs. The author has shared some photographs of Wilbur with Hank and of her other dogs. There is nothing to complain about in this book, and the editing is excellent. There are absolutely no errors or typos, which makes it a good read. I enjoyed reading the book, and I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

The unselfish love and care provided by the author and her husband to the homeless and abandoned dogs are awesome and worth appreciating. Every dog lover would relate to the story and feel empathy. I would recommend it to animal lovers, especially those who love dogs.
