The short book Say My Name by Vickey Robinson explores a woman's perspective on the white and black divide in America and how it has influenced generations of black lives. It is a succinct overview of how race relations in America came to be where they are today and how recent events have exposed ancient scars that have never fully healed.

This book discusses historical and contemporary events that have influenced black life in America. From the Civil Rights Act of 1866 to Martin Luther King Jr. to Barack Obama becoming the country's first black president to the murder of George Floyd and its impact on black lives.

The author discusses how racism has grown into a strong institution over the course of 400 years of slavery, 150 years of overt discrimination, and an additional 50 years of underhanded prejudice. And a legacy like this is ingrained in the very soul of America; it does not simply go away suddenly. Even though it is against the law, racism is still a significant issue in this country because white people simply cannot accept equality. Since racism has been declared illegal in public, some claim that black people themselves are orchestrating it.

The author also examines the working class and how black people's lower employment rates contributed to the emergence of segregated America. Vickey Robinson also discussed the COVID outbreak and how it significantly affected the nation's economy. However, in this pandemic, it was observed that blacks were negatively impacted due to the lower number of jobs they held, which prevented them from being paid during the outbreak. In contrast, 55% of Americans, mostly whites, were able to stay at home and receive pay from their jobs.

I would suggest reading this book if you want to learn more about racism and the division of whites and blacks. It opens your eyes.

I admire this book most for its thorough investigation, which is its initial strong point. Because of this book, I now know more about racism in America. The author took their time to carefully and critically evaluate the problem of racism in America. It was flawlessly written and free of any mistakes. Bravo for the editorial job.

The one thing I didn't enjoy about this book was how short it was. I would have preferred it to be longer and more in-depth, but it was still a decent read.

I give this book a five-star rating. It is a fantastic book to read about the difference between whites and blacks and about racism in America.

I advise everyone who lives in America to read the book. Combating racism in the nation would be very beneficial.
