This autobiography by a man of peace, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, gives an insight into colonialism and the struggle for independence.

Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, an Angolan, was born during French colonial rule. The Angolans faced several intimidations at the hands of the colonial masters, and Ghoulem had the dream of liberating his country from colonialism. As a young student, he was quite brilliant, and this earned him a scholarship to study medicine abroad. While in France, he noticed that Africans there faced some sort of discrimination, and despite being a student, he revolted strongly against this. He eventually became a professor at Yale University, and with his experience, he was in a better position to help his people and Africans at large. How did he eventually achieve this? Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, being a lover of peace, employed dialogue in his quest for independence. Amazing right? Although he was faced with several challenges, his dream of peace fueled his passion. He was resilient, shunning every form of discrimination and religious intolerance. Finally, Angola became the independent country he always dreamed of.

Personally, I consider this book a masterpiece. It contains several themes, although it boils down to one thing, which is freedom fighting. I've heard stories of freedom fighters, and I was initially scared that Dr. Ghoulem would lose his life in his quest for freedom. But he adopted a very unique formula, which is dialogue. In conclusion, I can boldly say that violence resolves nothing. If he could achieve such feats without any form of violence, I don't see why we shouldn't follow in his footsteps. I really appreciate Dr. Ghoulem Berrah for this eye-opening write-up.

I rate this book five out of five stars. Honestly, the storyline is really inspirational. I didn't encounter any grammatical or typographical errors while reading, so this book was professionally edited. I see no reason to deduct a star from my rating. I recommend A Dream for Peace to everyone, especially those who are interested in making a difference. There is so much we can learn from the life of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah.
