In my experience, the hardest part of doing any sort of creative work is the fear of failure. Creative work requires putting yourself out there for everyone to see and judge. Fear of failure is pervasive in all parts of life - going for a job interview, playing games, making jokes, talking to strangers or going on a date to name a few. Fail Your Way to Success 6 New Ways to View Your Mistakes Today by Shereena Badu is a guide to being less afraid of failure, learning from it and redefining success.

Something that's really basic in hindsight but often overlooked by people is that failure is a necessity toward any sort of real success. This failure isn't entirely a bad thing, however - sure it would be nice to magically succeed 100% of the time, but failure can teach valuable lessons. The book discusses important concepts like this, not dwelling on failure, taking responsibility for your own failings and the importance of defining your own success. These are all great lessons and things everyone should know, especially those trying to improve themselves or start their own business.

The problem with all of these points is that the book is incredibly short. Despite the book having one of the longest titles I've read, it weighs in at just over 30 pages. This means that each point is made rather quickly, which is great for a refresher or an introductory book about understanding failure, but it's not the deepest tome of knowledge either.

The other major complaint, and by far a more important complaint, is that the book is in desperate need of editing. Aside from formatting, pretty much every type of error is present here. It doesn't come off as confusing too often - even when totally incorrect words are used, it's easy to figure out what was meant - it definitely does make reading the book much slower and rougher.

As someone who has read many motivational, self-help and business-starting books none of this information was new. By that same token, I can also say that it's some of the most important information for most anyone. While it's not something I can suggest to those who want a well-edited book or who have read many of these types of books, I can definitely recommend it to newcomers in the genre. With some solid editing this book would easily get 3 stars, but as it is I'm giving it 2 out of 4 stars.

Thank you for your review. I looked up the book on Amazon and noticed that 4 different authors use the same title beginning Fail your way to success.... I wonder if they all got the idea from the same source?
