Review of The Maestro Monologue
The Maestro Monologue by Rob White is an attention-grabbing, motivational book consisting of four parts: “Understanding What's Ultimately True about You”, “Seeing It Like It Is without Making It Worse”, “High Spirits as You Are Revealed”, and “Thy Kingdom Come”. As the author mentions, this book is not about adding something new to the reader’s personality but rather about subtracting the wrong beliefs that they have picked up during their lifetime. This way, the readers can reveal and become aware of their authentic selves. Throughout the book, Rob explains how those beliefs became parts of our perception of ourselves and how we can introspect, see the truth, and enjoy the mistakes we make. The book also consists of helpful exercises that are customizable for those who want to come to a foundational realisation of their actions and mindset. The author also describes how all the mentioned processes usually evolve and what changes they usually bring.
The journey through the book was very enjoyable to me. The author’s writing style brought more interest to the chapters. From how accurately the events of everyday life were described, it was clear that Rob knows what he is talking about and is genuine in his intention of helping others. I loved how this book was not just the usual “do this, do that, and you’ll be fine” that we often get from many authors, but rather it was full of questions that took me to a deeper level of understanding the roots of my problems. During the last few weeks of practicing the teachings of this book, I’ve been able to control my emotions under stress and respond to the actual problem accordingly, without making it worse or overreacting. I enjoyed every part of this book and found it very helpful. Rob definitely has a clear vision along with amazing skills of explanation.
The only downside for this book could be the errors I came across while reading, but to be fair, there were just a few of them and they didn’t affect the readability even slightly.
For its helpfulness, relatability, and useful information, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The author’s hard work could be seen clearly, and I do not think that the errors I encountered were serious enough for me to deduct a point for them.
As I perceive it, the information in this book is so useful and long-forgotten in our society that I would recommend it to everyone. Especially to those who have low self-esteem and seem to make the worst of situations under pressure. I think everyone could take something useful and interesting from this book that could help them throughout their lives. As Rob White says, it is time for you to take charge, become the maestro of your life, and create your own masterpiece!
