Agents and Dealers: The Surprising Parallels Between Real Estate Agents and Drug Dealers by S. Joshi is a book aimed at all those people who work as real estate agents and want to be the best in their field. In a few exhaustive pages, the author will reveal to real estate agents the similarities their job has with drug dealing (underlining, however, that the latter is an illegal activity that he does not endorse). Topics covered include the importance of knowing your product, building a personal brand, building a team, establishing territories, setting competitive prices, and managing your inventory and risks.

I read Agents and Dealers because I found captivating the idea that a legal profession can be compared to drug dealing. The best aspect of this book is that the author explains what a real estate agent should focus on to stand out in their profession. Both the division of topics and the comparisons with drug dealers make this very clear.

One thing that convinced me less is that many topics can refer to any profession that has to consider the market and marketing strategies. The recommendation to know your product in detail, for example, can and must be applied to anyone who has something to sell. This consideration, however, does not influence my overall opinion of the book because I think the author could effectively compare two market niches that (apparently) have nothing to do with each other. This is why I believe that the book has no real negative sides.

The book is well-edited, and I have no typographical errors to report.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I find it to be a great guide for anyone who works as a real estate agent, and I believe it can offer them a lot of advice on how to be efficient and productive. It is obviously to these people that I recommend reading this book. I think they will find here a lot of food for thought.
