Each one of us is susceptible to pain, provided we are alive. Why God Allows Evil and Suffering is a non-fiction book by Sine Nomine. In this book, there is the concept of love and pain. The book is divided into two parts. The first part analyzes four assertions. The assertions are divine character traits of God. They are: God is all-powerful, God is all-just, God is all-wise, and God is all-loving. In God’s wisdom, he ranks love before justice. The analysis of the first part provides foundational concepts. The concepts are relied upon in the second part to solve the problem of pain. The book further contains what God is capable of doing.

The aspect I love about this book is the concept of love. In line with this concept, the author ascertains that love comes before justice. The author relies on God’s decision not to end humanity after Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. There are also several references made by the author to support the message in this book.

I have nothing to dislike about this book. It was exceptionally edited due to the lack of a single error.

I rate this book five out of five stars. This is because the book is arranged logically, making it easy to understand. I learned of the prerequisites of love, which all make sense, and I am inclined to agree with the author. I also noted the purpose of human creation as per this book. This purpose is at the center of all Christian doctrine and belief.

This book is a good recommendation for Christians. It covers the attributes that God possesses and makes Him superior to us. There are also references made to various verses in the Bible. Further, this book is also favourable to Christians who are of the Catholic denomination. It contains references to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
