Gina Bianchini has been working as a community platform entrepreneur for decades. She is the founder of the Mighty Platform, which is a cultural software that brings content, community, courses, and commerce together. She aimed to help content creators and people with—or searching for—purposes reach their goals and make them matter in modern life. She believes that if technology is used correctly by communities that have common intentions, they can change the world. The book's first half offers a step-by-step purpose-finding framework with an action plan. The second half shows how to harness technology and turn purposes into achievements.
The historical background of social networking evolution mentioned at the beginning was interesting. It makes you see a flashback to the quick rise of technology and praise the hard collaborative work of the contributors. The book is proficiently edited, with almost zero typos and mistakes. However, I found a few long sentences that are a little bit confusing. I think that you might need to have some digital background to be able to understand some expressions. However, the book can be educational if you are interested in learning more about the world behind social media.
One negative aspect is that the title can be misunderstood. The author focuses more on finding and achieving purposes only through community support. Therefore, if you are an introvert or a person who prefers to fly solo, you might not like the proposal. However, you can still try to adapt, change, or become a community member rather than a mentor.
I give the book five stars out of five since it offers a promising alternative solution to popular social media platforms that will save time, focus, and energy. The Mighty Platform is not free for everyone, like other social media. However, the author believes that payment increases loyalty to the community and offers a higher value than being stuck to a monoculture single feed.
