Niching is probably a major decision that requires boldness. Chris Dreyer, the author of Niching Up mentions that it is not for everyone and thus goes into detail about the pros and cons of niching. Nothing lacks cons. It's just that the pros outweigh the cons, as Chris points out in this book.

Niching reduces your market size, which is why it is important to understand it in detail. Chris, who was previously a basketball coach and a detention supervisor, is now the CEO and founder of Rankings.io. He goes through the cons and how they are most likely to work in your favor, i.e., competition might lead you to work towards perfection. In this book, he uses examples of movies and books and even mentions famous attorneys like Joe Fried. He explores the when, how, and why of niching in detail.

I love the author's introduction. It was not the usual jump into details of pitching but rather an introduction to how he did it. This helps one decide if they are inspired by this or if the book is not certainly for them. Constant but sparse humor was used, and the presentation of the concept is based on the reader. I ended up being able to also learn a new foreign word from the book.

Additionally, I enjoyed that for every question that required an answer, Chris reflected on his situation before answering the question. Most of the concepts involved understanding the niche before delving into it. I rate Niching Up by Chris Dreyer 5 out of 5 stars. I love the concept, the presentation, and the editing, which was perfectly done. It is enlightening to mention that there is nothing to dislike about this book.

I recommend Niching Up to every business-minded person. After reading this book, one can decide if they are ready to choose a niche or if they are satisfied with the services they are already offering. This will be an informed decision after learning what is being put at risk and what will be gained in the process.
