Niching Up: The Narrower the Market, the Bigger the Prize will be a resource I will reference for years to come! It is packed with invaluable information, but delivered in such an entertaining writing style. The flow is somewhat informal, as if you were out for coffee with your favorite mentor. Chris is an amazing storyteller, sharing anecdotes from his own life and many other iconic entrepreneurs. It may seem silly how the author incorporates so many pop culture references or some of his non-business related endeavors, but these examples show how applicable these lessons are to any industry. Regardless of what industry you are in and what stage your business is at; this book will help you strategize how to get to the next level. If you don't own a business, this book can still benefit you to consider how to become a more marketable employee. The book is well rounded in providing details on the cons of niching up, areas to focus efforts when niching up, and countless examples of application from different industries (including a case study from his own company’s experience). The reading process was so delightful, I had to intentionally take breaks to avoid reading it too fast. I didn’t want it to end! I also wanted to take the time to reflect on the lessons. The positive tone of the book allows the reader to feel inspired and capable of growing from these recommendations.

This book is extremely helpful and such an enjoyable read! I will definitely recommend this book for years to come. With the phenomenal editing, valuable information, and wonderful reading experience; I would rate this book as a 5/5. Excited to see what other books Chris Dreyer will come out with! A nice addition would be to include a checklist in the appendix of the book for readers to track what techniques they’ve applied to their work while reading. Even though most of the areas discussed in the chapters would be gradual processes, it could add additional motivation for the reader to continue applying changes by visually tracking their process. Even a 30 or 90 day social media challenge to go along with this book would be fun! This could also help facilitate building community amongst the readers, many of whom may be business owners and interested in networking with like minded people.
