Review of The Miracles of God

[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Miracles of God" by Sharon Mcmillon.]
The Miracles of God, written by Sharon McMillon, is a short book comprised of seven short stories recounting the author's experience with God's mysterious miracles. The author describes various events throughout her childhood and ends the final story in her adult life. Through traumatic, life-altering events, the author shares her testimony to God's hand in shaping her life.
I enjoyed that the author incorporated Bible verses into her book. At the start of each short story, the author dedicated a page to a specific Bible verse related to the story she shared with the audience. I thought that the inclusion of the verses helped give me an idea of what was to come and also aided in further emphasizing the author's purpose of sharing her faith and God's influence in her life.
I also found that the author's straightforward writing style was very easy to follow. Each story was very concise in its delivery, and I found that the short and easy stories were great to sit down and read in a single sitting. I liked the simplistic use of vocabulary and that the book was broken into several short stories, which would make this book easy to read for most audiences of various reading levels. I found it was also easy to stop after reading a story and pick up the next one later since most of the stories were separate situations that remained unrelated besides sharing God's work in the author's life.
Unfortunately, I did find some grammatical errors that hindered my reading experience. I also often felt like there were missing details in the stories that made it difficult to paint a picture of the various situations in my mind.
Finally, the ending left me feeling unfulfilled. It seemed too abrupt like the book was cut off before the final chapter. There was a short introduction at the beginning, but there was no epilogue or summary at the end. It felt like there should have been an additional page to wrap everything together, but instead, the book ended after the final short story without the circle coming to a complete close.
Due to the reasons listed above, I rate The Miracles of God 3 out of 5 stars. This book would be a terrific read for Christians looking for an easy book to enjoy God's work in others' lives. This would also be a good book for readers looking for a light and quick read.
