Having faith in God is a deeply personal and profound belief that provides solace, strength, and purpose to millions of people around the world. According to me, it represents a spiritual connection, a steadfast trust in the divine, and a belief in something greater than oneself. For many, faith serves as a guiding light through life's challenges and uncertainties, offering comfort in times of sorrow and hope in moments of despair. It fosters a sense of community and belonging, linking individuals through shared beliefs and rituals. When I picked up Rebecca Brown’s book titled BT Frog: Beginning to Fully Rely on God, I knew I was going to read about the magic of this very faith in God.

In this deeply reflective account, the author explores the profound impact of faith in her life, drawing from personal experiences and biblical teachings. The narrative delves into instances of courage and hope found in the stories of Moses, Stephen, and Paul, highlighting how these examples inspired resilience. The author also shares personal encounters with individuals battling various challenges, demonstrating unwavering courage and faith. Through trials and tribulations, the author discerns a purpose: to be refined and defined by adversity, ultimately becoming a beacon of God's spirit and hope for others.

The author then explores the concept of spiritual growth and commitment by drawing parallels between physical fitness and faith. Using the metaphor of a diet plan, the book emphasizes the need for discipline, focus, and a strong support system in one's spiritual journey. Through Bible verses and personal reflections, the author underscores the importance of offering one's life to God and being transformed from the inside out.

What I personally liked the most about this book is how it offers practical questions for self-reflection at the end of every chapter, supported by a heartfelt prayer, urging readers to consider their own spiritual disciplines and commitment to God. This part of the book personally connected with me as I sat down and pondered over the thought-provoking questions put forward.

The other part I liked about this book is how the author confronts the overwhelming violence and despair in the world through the lens of faith. Distressed by the disturbing news of violence, especially towards innocent children, the author finds solace in the scripture from Isaiah 65:17–25. Encouraged by verses from Galatians and 2 Corinthians, the author emphasizes the importance of doing well in the face of adversity and holding onto faith despite challenges. She inspires readers to find strength in prayer, even in moments of speechless despair, and to trust the Holy Spirit's intercession. Through this narrative, readers are reminded of the transformative power of faith, prayer, and the promise of a better tomorrow.

I would say that Rebecca Brown's work embodies God's grace, and through her devotions, she invites us into the depths of her heart, encouraging us to engage in a dialogue with the Almighty. Thus, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I did not dislike anything in particular about this book, but the multiple grammatical errors have forced me to reduce one star from the overall rating. I believe the narrative of this book culminates in a powerful call to action, encouraging readers to embrace the divine purpose of encouraging others and fostering a world brimming with hope and courage, which is why I would surely recommend this book to all, especially those belonging to the Christian faith.

Hey Catherine! I initially wondered the same; however, BT Frog literally translates to the full name of the book, which is Beginning to Fully Rely on God :)
