Review of Nine Months
For a long time now, I have believed that animals perceive love way better than humans!
They understand even if they cannot speak through words, and they’re there for you when you need them in their own sweet way, which I think is the best way and a way that no human can match. They only give without any intention to take, and they’re just so affectionate that you cannot help but shed a tear for the unconditional love they offer.
In Nine Months, the author Tania Tomyn has wonderfully taken us on an emotional journey that encapsulates her bond with her dog Wilbur, or lovingly, Willy, who unfortunately is no more but who in his life gave nothing but love and tried to fight until the very end just so that he could spend an extra minute with Tania and her family.
The book is titled Nine Months because it is a journey of Nine Months right from the time Wilbur entered Tania’s life until the time he left. Honestly, I don’t even feel appropriate to review this book because the bond that Tania and Willy shared was equivalent to the bond shared between a mother and her son, and how could I possibly review that bond or that love?
Tania has begun the book so wonderfully when she shares how the news of her friend Michelle getting pregnant brought within her a bittersweet feeling. Bittersweet in the sense that while she was truly happy for her friend, she was at the same time sad because, as much as she wanted to have her own baby, she and her husband, Aaron, just couldn’t have one, no matter how hard they’d tried. It was then that Willy, who was a rescue pup, came into their lives and took the place of a son in both of their lives. The honesty with which she has written this part of the book makes the reader actually feel all those emotions.
The book then explores Willy’s unnatural health, his regular visits to the vet and the dermatologist, the pain he went through, and the pain that Tania and Aaron went through.
I wouldn’t like to reveal anymore because it is best that you read this short yet powerful book by yourself and feel all those emotions coursing through your veins. Honestly, by the end of the book, I had tears in my eyes. The book is just so emotional!
I don’t even feel like rating this work, but since I have to, I’d of course rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I think that was obvious from the review, wasn’t it?
I loved this book, and though it may not be a masterpiece, the emotions would surely connect with you, and that cannot be topped!
What is there to dislike? Nothing!
I pray for sweet little Willy, wherever he is, and I commend the author for having the courage to write this book, for I know it’s not easy.
I recommend this book to everyone, especially dog lovers like me.
