[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Be the Weight Behind the Spear" by Josh McConkey.]
Be the Weight Behind the Spear by Dr. Josh McConkey is a book that deals with leadership in America and how to have a better America with responsible leaders in the future. The author says that this is the time to teach the young ones and arm them with tools for successful leadership by emphasising certain important values. He has worked in the emergency unit of the US Air Force, on the battlefield in Iran, and also in business, so he has experience with the system and people and can tell that the world is failing its future leaders. This support that he wants to be given is called the weight behind the spear. He, however, hopes that he can make some impact with this book.
This book was inspiring. I admire the author’s love for America and his passion for making it better. He spoke with so much passion, and at a point, I felt he would do well as president because his leadership knowledge was amazing. There was so much to learn from this book. After reading, I felt like I was already a great leader. I appreciate his sharing things that he learned from other great leaders. I loved reading the history of America that he witnessed and graciously shared; it sounds better coming from someone who witnessed it.
I paid a lot of attention to this book because I felt that it was amazing, and I wanted to see if there was anything at all that I did not like about it. He shared an amazing background story, and I loved the story about his wife’s family history; it was rich, hilarious, and inspiring. I felt like I was reading about heroes. I liked how he eulogized the people who had fought for the America that we have. While there wasn’t anything that I could hold against this book, there was just a little part about a divorce that wasn’t clarified, considering that he had a perfect marriage and still does.
While the divorce issue wasn’t clarified, it seemed rather insignificant to me. This was a great book. I loved the author’s style of writing. I liked how everything was personal and believable. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. For a book that was this amazing, I cannot give anything short of a perfect rating. Speaking of perfection, the book was perfectly edited, and I found not a single error in it.
I therefore recommend this book to every American, especially to those who deeply care about the future of America. If you do not care about the future of America, I also recommend that you read it because it will give you reasons to care. I also recommend this book to people beyond America, as I think it will benefit people from other parts of the world. We all want the world to be a better place. I recommend it to people currently in leadership positions and to families, teachers, and coaches, as it will help them raise better future leaders.
