Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a self-help manual written with the advice for retired people to spend their lives financially well and without worry. At the beginning of the book, the author discusses the different ways in which retirees could generate income for themselves because it is impossible to reconfigure one’s finances without income. This includes various investment programs that will generate passive income in the future. He emphasises the importance of having a financial plan after retirement.

He also talks about finding the right career after retirement to supplement their income. The author also discusses the much-ignored but important topic of disability insurance. There are also in-depth discussions of different types of insurance and medical care systems that can come to one’s aid in old age.

I like how practical the book is. I also like how the author doesn’t shy away from real-world hardships while giving his financial advice. For example, many people may need long-term health care in their old age and it is very important to include the cost of this care while making a financial plan. The author makes a very detailed case for the ways in which long-term care can be planned.

I also liked the various resources the author provided at the end of the book. This chapter contains a list of books that discusses various part-time jobs and work-from-home jobs for retirees that can generate income for retirees.

There is nothing I disliked about the book. I couldn’t find any errors so I think the book is professionally edited. There is no profanity or violence.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is well written, well edited, and the advice given in this book is very practical and useful. I recommend this book to people who are looking to plan their finances after retirement.
